The trunk presented is designed for educational purposes, for the young and the old. It focuses on the differences as well as the similiarities of the past and the present. It allows for the comparison of items used for similar purposes today. The current trunk is for a glimpse into the reconstruction period. This is a time period that lasted twelve years after the American Civil War. The purpose during this time of 1865 to 1877 was to get the South to become part of the Union again.
